Initially reminiscent of Pyro Studios' popular Commandos series, Nival Interactive's Silent Storm transports players to the battlefields of World War II and charges them with the responsibility of leading a small group of expert operatives to complete a series of level-based objectives. Unlike Commandos' real-time action, however, Silent Storm offers turn-based play, with a tighter focus on the precise execution of well-planned tactics. Available operatives vary considerably. The game offers over 40 male and female characters of different nationalities that may be developed as the player sees fit, in one of six professions and with more than 50 possible skills. Mission areas and weapons are also designed to authentically represent the World War II setting. Missions are non-linear, with multiple possible solutions, and two separate campaigns allow play for both the Axis and the Allies. True 3D graphics, real-time lighting, and destructible environments help add to the realism of Silent Storm. Features Select a squad from 40 specialists around the world each with thier own personality Six military professions including grenadier, sniper, engineer, and medic 75 authentic WWII weapons and experimental combat equipment keep the explosions going all night SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Windows 98/ME/2000/XP MINIMUM 600MHz Processor 128MB RAM 2.5GB Hard Disk Space 32MB AGP 3D Accelerated nVidia GeForce2 Class Video Card DirectX 9.0 Sound Card CD-ROM Drive Mouse RECOMMENDED 2.2GHz Processor 512MB RAM 2.5GB Hard Disk Space 128MB AGP 3D Accelerated nVidia GeForceFX or Radeon 9700 Class Video Card DirectX 9.0 Sound Card CD-ROM Drive Mouse Silent Storm Hammer & Sickle With Hammer & Sickle, the makers of Silent Storm deploy another round of militarily themed, historically inspired, turn-based tactics for hardcore PC gamers. Instead of an Allied or Axis soldier, as in the earlier game's World War II setting, Hammer & Sickle players take the role of an undercover Russian operative at the start of the Cold War. The hero suspects a plot that would lead the U.S. and the U.S.S.R. to nuclear war, but much remains a mystery. By progressing through a series of secretive missions, player characters can gain the materials and support they'll need to uncover the truth. As in Silent Storm, missions take place on detailed 3D maps which can be viewed from nearly any perspective or proximity. Most areas can be explored in real-time, but the game switches to a turn-based mode when fighting breaks out. In battle, each character's possible actions are governed by a system of points, so it takes longer to sneak about or discharge a grenade launcher than it does to run away or fire a pistol. As players progress through the game's story, their customizable character develops better skills and new abilities, and can recruit a squad of controllable commandos to help in the cause. Features Open-ended tactical role-playing game set in the beginning of the Cold War Complete primary and secondary missions as a Soviet spy behind enemy lines in 1949 Germany Interactions with characters will influence their faction’s attitude, hostility, and/or helpfulness Locate or rescue different recruits before adding them to your squad Outfit soldiers with close to 90 authentic WWII-era weapons System Requirements Pentium III / Athlon 1 GHz 256 MB of memory 3D-accelerator 32 MB of memory 3.5 GB hard drive Silent Storm Sentinels Silent Storm: Sentinels is an expansion pack for the original Silent Storm, released in Russia in 2004. It was released to the rest of Europe later the same year with the original game as Silent Storm: Gold Edition. The expansion pack features a new storyline taking place after the events of the base game. The gameplay is mostly the same, with the biggest change being that the player now earns money doing missions that must be spent on equipment and recruiting squad members. The story of the Sentinels follows the squad as they investigate a newly formed terrorist group called Thor's Hammer. While the original game took place during World War II and had campaigns based on both sides of the conflict, Sentinels is set shortly after the end of WWII and the beginnings of the Cold War. Due to this the player can recruit squad members that were only available to the Axis or Allied sides in the original game. Features: True 3D engine Combines turn-based tactical combats and role-playing Non-linear campaign structure in 18 missions Day/night cycle, weather variations and seasons Pool of mercenaries from more than 40 elite soldiers of 30 different nationalities Newly introduced economic component enhances game play New building types, new characters The events in the add-on's story are connected with the events in S2 More then 10 new weapons System Requirements OS: Windows 98/ME/2000/XP Processor: Pentium 4 @ 2.4 GHz Memory: 512 MB Video Memory: 128 MB Sound Card: DirectX Compatible DirectX: 9.0 Keyboard & Mouse CD/DVD Rom Drive *Sentinels is an expansion pack to the Silent Storm, you NEED Silent Storm in order to play Sentinels* INSTALLATION Applies to all three games If, when you start the installation, displays the following message Just click on OK button and proceed with the installation.
