AutoCAD is a design and drafting software from Autodesk, a leader in CAD designing. AutoCAD has made it easy for engineers to design new things as well as creating engineering drawing for production purpose. It has become an essential tool for engineers and architects. Autodesk comes up with a new version every year and today the version under review is AutoCAD 2006 the 20th version of AutoCAD. AutoCAD 2006 has many features which were missing in the previous versions. These new features have enhanced the performance of drawing making. The most interesting enhancement made in this version is the dynamic input. The moment you start drawing a dynamic command prompt appear near the cursor showing different dimensions like length and angle. All you need to draw a line is to just select a starting point and drag the mouse a little bit then enter the value of length or angle in dynamic command prompt. The desired line will be drawn. This version is offering you dynamic blocks. Previously for all varying shapes there were different blocks. But now with dynamic block you can add different shapes in one block resulting in the reduction of number of blocks. Hatching has also been improved in this version. There is a new feature of QuickCalc. It permits user to calculate anything more easily than AutoCAD. QuickCalc is better than old command line technique. Features of AutoCAD 2006: Easy to use.
