The report of transfer updates comes as excellent news, especially to the managers of Chelsea who, following the club’s recent spending spree, will have a bloated squad to choose from.

Sports Interactive are famous for their attention to detail, so it is unsurprising that the gameplay has been tweaked to provide more stability and prevent crashes. 

Match Engine fixes have also seen reduced player mistakes from bad touches in certain areas of the pitch, while defenders’ reactions to long through balls have been improved.

Some other improvements to the popular football game include: 

• Tweaks to make attacking players move quicker to support counter-attacks
•  Improvements to how attacking wide players track back when defending
•  Improvements to the Recruitment Focus logic
•  Improvements to fixture scheduling, particularly the frequency of consecutive home or away games
•  Updated substitution rules across various competitions

All gameplay adjustments will take effect in current career modes, although Football Manager players may need to begin a new game save to enjoy some of the data updates.

Sports Interactive have also disclosed that they are not done improving the game. Players of the popular game can also expect one final winter update to be released in the coming weeks.

The update will cover the latest deals from transfer windows that closed in February, including the Chinese and Russian leagues, Major League Soccer, free transfers in the English lower divisions and more.
